Today I have been to Lancing (West Sussex) and then walked along the coast to Shoreham-by-Sea. Lancing because it's where my grandma and later my uncle and aunt used to live, Shoreham because it's there, or at a reasonable walk from Lancing. Looked at grandma's old house (now no longer called Treetops) and aunt and uncle's (same as it was). Surprised that the local shop we used to go to, called the Magnet, is still called that. Tried out the new camera. Results ok, may post them to Flickr some time. Lunch in a pub in Lancing (the Three Horseshoes), then was sorely tempted by the range of real ales in the Buckingham Arms in Shoreham. For some reason Lancing has about five pubs and Shoreham has plenty (and more going on generally) even though they're about the same size (I suspect it's because Shoreham has long been a busy port and Lancing, well, isn't.). Then a train all the way back to Clapham Junction. Tags: sussex, walking Current Location: front bedroom Current Mood: reflective
